The following is required in order to qualify for membership to
SANBWA:

A recent (within the last 3 months)
certificate of analysis of mineral content.

A recent (within last 3 months) certificate of microbiological analysis, being plate count, total coliform and E-Coli, Clostridium perfringens, Pseudomonas aeruginosa levels.
Compliance to all relevant standards.

A recent (within last 3 months) certificate of analysis on toxics and pesticide
residue levels, compliance to all relevant standards.

A certificate from the local Health Department

A Department of Water Affairs certificate authorising the exploitation of the water for commercial purposes
in the case of natural underground sources.

A certificate from a professional hydrogeologist. The certificate shall conform to the requirements as set out in 1.2 of
Appendix 2 of the “Guidelines & Standards for Bottling lines.

Adherence to all futher requirements as per
SANBWA Guidelines and Standards.

Adherence to the pertinent labelling legislation. Please provide a copy of the label to be used.

After meeting all above requirements, a plant inspection will be performed by the SANBWA representatives. Evaluation results should meet SANBWA requirements as set out in the “Guidelines and Standards”.

The use of the SANBWA logo is not allowed on flavoured mineral water, although the phrase “bottled at a SANBWA approved source" may be used on the label.

The above certificates are to be submitted with the accompanying
application form and signed by the company director.
