SANBWA is an association of members for members and by members, thus the opportunities available are unlimited. Some of the benefits are listed below.

  • SANBWA provides technical assistance to their members.

  • Members have a say in industry issues.

  • By supporting SANBWA, members support the control of industry standards thereby supporting industry growth.

  • SANBWA samples members’ water from the trade and has it analysed for microbiological criteria on a monthly basis.

  • SANBWA offers independent third party audits annually.

  • SANBWA has close contact with the Department of Health to establish standards. SANBWA was a major player in drafting the regulation for bottled waters, R.718.

  • SANBWA liases with suppliers on industry issues.

  • SANBWA has an ongoing media plan to proactively work with the media.

  • SANBWA markets their logo present on member’s waters to the trade, consumer and prospective bottlers through the use of promotional, broadcast and print media. E.g.: Trade shows, brochures, newsletters, radio talk shows, articles and advertisements in various magazines and newspapers.

  • SANBWA assists in grass root projects to ensure a sufficient standard upon their entry into the market.

  • SANBWA researches technical issues on behalf of industry/members.

  • SANBWA has international affiliation with the International Council for Bottled Water Associations (ICBWA) and the European Federation for Bottled Water (EFBW).
